16th Annual Dr. Helen Hays Sunflower Luncheon
Thank you to everyone that took the time to join us at our 16th Annual Dr. Helen Hays Sunflower Luncheon.
In her keynote speech, Dr. Donna Wilson spoke of the need to evolve end-of-life care in Edmonton, and of this being a critical time for Pilgrims Hospice to thrive and expand:
“It’s not just that the fabulous set of programs of compassionate care should continue, but that Pilgrims Hospice expands with 12 hospice suites for in-patient care. Good deaths are very important to the dying person and also to those who will be left to deal with their loss. It is very clear that grieving is much easier when a good death has happened and much harder when it does not.”
