Event Day

Hike for Pilgrims Hospice is a rain-or-shine event! Please come prepared to hike whatever the weather.

Water will be available for both you and your pets at the main gathering area, as well as at the halfway point of the hike. Snacks and beverages will be available in the food tent after the Hike.

The start/finish line is located on 148 Street in front of Pilgrims Hospice Society (9808 148 Street NW, Edmonton).

Yes! Please bring a refillable water bottle; there will be a water station at the halfway point of the walk. Disposable cups will also be available.

Pets on a short leash are allowed on the trail, so feel free to bring your pup for a walk.

Street parking is available around Pilgrims Hospice Society; however, it will be limited on the day of the hike. Please carpool if you can, and leave the parking directly in front of our hospice open for visitors.

Note: 148 Street from 98 Avenue to Summit Drive will be closed from 9:30am to 11:30am.

If you plan to arrive early, we absolutely recommend bringing lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on (the ground can still be cold in April).

Please stow your lawn chairs (and anything else you bring that you don’t want to hike with) in your vehicle. You can bring them out again after the hike if you’d like.

Yes, please! You’ve worked hard to support our hospice, and we want everyone to know who you’re remembering as you walk. Don’t forget to order your Hike for Pilgrims Hospice t-shirt when you register and wear it for the Hike!

  • Any cash or cheque donations you’ve collected
  • Re-fillable water bottle
  • Walking shoes
  • Weather-related gear (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Your Hike t-shirt
  • Lawn chair or picnic blanket
  • Positive energy!

If you’ve already submitted all your cash and cheque donations, you do not need to check in when you arrive at the main event on April 25. The only reason you need to check in upon arrival is to submit outstanding donations or pick up your Hike t-shirt.
