The Roozen Family Hospice Centre
Construction of Edmonton’s first free-standing residential community hospice is in progress! With continued donor support, our new home for hospice will open by the end of 2020.
Until then, Pilgrims is operating from an interim location.
Pilgrims Hospice Society offers compassionate care for individuals living with a terminal illness, enhancing dignity and quality of life, until the end of life. With a whole-family approach, our programs also support caregivers and those grieving the death of a loved one.
“It’s a reality that the better support an individual receives, the better their quality of life – right to the end. And for those left behind, there’s an opportunity to journey through grief and bereavement in a healthy way.”
– Monica Robson, Pilgrims Hospice Executive Director
Pilgrims Hospice continues to follow recommendations from Alberta Heath Services to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Doing so has meant changes to program delivery and daily operations.
Pilgrims remains dedicated to offering support to any persons affected by the loss of a loved one and although our in-person counselling services have been suspended at this time due to the impact of COVID-19, we want you to be aware that our counselors will continue to offer grief support services via telephone and video counselling.
Appointments can be made by contacting Cheryl Salter-Roberts, Manager, Grief Support Services at 780.690.6135.
Pre-registration for this 4 week program is required.
The Expressive Arts Program for Children, Teens, and Families is a 4 week bereavement support group for families grieving the death of a loved one. Participants connect with others who are grieving and participate in discussions, activities, and information sessions about grief. This session will be provided online to abide by the COVID-19 regulations.
A children’s group, a teen group, and a parent group are available.
