Front-of-House Volunteers: As the welcoming notes that meet every arrival, front-of-house volunteers embody warmth, friendliness and efficiency. They help guests in person or over the phone, create a welcoming space in our great room, and handle administrative tasks with ease. Front-of-house volunteers commit to at least four hours a week and are needed every day of the week. Their unwavering dedication helps keep everyone in tune.

Direct Support Volunteers: These volunteers serve as the heart of resident care, providing a harmonious blend of compassion and assistance that enriches every resident’s journey. With a commitment of four hours a week, any day of the week, direct service volunteers contribute to the holistic care that defines Pilgrims Hospice Society.

Kitchen Volunteers: Orchestrating nourishment is the specialty of the kitchen volunteer. They work with our chef behind the scenes, preparing meals, baking and serving while maintaining an organized and welcoming kitchen environment. With a minimum commitment of four hours a week, any day of the week, these volunteers play a crucial role in nourishing both body and spirit.

Grief Support Volunteers: With a commitment of three hours a week, these compassionate individuals co-facilitate grief support groups for adults, children and teens, providing a gentle cadence of solace and understanding to those navigating the challenging journey of loss.

Complementary Services Volunteers: Enriching the hospice experience, volunteers in various roles such as events coordination, grocery shopping, spiritual support, musicians, hairdressers/estheticians, art therapy, pet therapy and gardeners complete the harmony of care Pilgrims Hospice Society provides.

Adult Day Program Volunteers: As the steady rhythm that keeps the day’s harmony flowing, Adult Day Program volunteers provide essential social, emotional, recreational and general support to adults diagnosed with life-limiting illnesses. In this group setting, under the guidance of program staff, Day Program volunteers create an environment where every participant feels valued and engaged — ensuring that the music of life continues to play on, even in challenging times.
