One of the key differentiators of a community hospice is the setting – inside and out.  The renderings of the homelike building and the warm and welcoming rooms of the Roozen Family Hospice Centre are always met with smiles and nods of appreciation. But, the hospice experience will really begin before entering the building thanks to our host community of Crestwood.

Crestwood is a lovely, established Edmonton neighbourhood that borders Glenora and west end communities. It has the city’s oldest running community league. It also has mature trees and well-cared for homes and businesses.

Pilgrims purchased the 3-lot site in the late 90’s where it would operate out of a repurposed existing building until this year. There was support from the beginning with many Crestwood residents engaging as donors and volunteers.

That support swelled with the Home for Hospice Campaign: from the pre-development door-knocking in which we heard “how can we help?” from many, to the steadfast support of the Crestwood Community League asserting, “this is an asset we are proud to have in our community.”

We are truly grateful.
