At the end of Candy Cane Lane, nestled in the quiet surroundings of the Crestwood community, stands Edmonton’s only free-standing voluntary Hospice.
The hospice was established as a provider of family centered end-of-life care, caregiver support and bereavement services for children, teens, families and adults.
Pilgrims Hospice is committed to helping people diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. It is equally important to help ease the challenges that face their loved ones. On a daily basis, we advocate for quality, palliative care on behalf of our clients and their families. Every Canadian facing a life-threatening illness has a right to quality end-of-life care and adequate support for their family.
Hospice care offers a tranquil alternative to interventions and hospitalization for patients when death is approaching. Patients are encouraged to retain control in every way possible over the decisions that affect their lives. When cure is no longer possible, we offer comfort and compassionate care.
Pilgrims Hospice is run by a small qualified, professional staff. This team is complemented by a large, well-trained and dedicated group of volunteers of all ages.
